There has been a lot of talk in the news lately about real estate brokerages that charge their clients a "Regulatory Processing Fee" on the sale or purchase of a home.  These fees often costs buyers and sellers hundreds of dollars over and above the commission they pay their REALTOR®.

 

Our competitors claim this fee is needed to offset document storage fees.  The truth of the matter is there is little if any cost to a brokerage to maintain a file.  In fact, Ohio Law requires every real estate broker to maintain their files regardless of whether a processing fee is paid.

 

At Clint Williams Realty, we believe we should be compensated for providing a valuable service to our clients - namely assisting with the sale and purchase of a home.  Accordingly, we have never charged "regulatory processing fees" - and we never will.  It's about doing the right thing - plain and simple.
